The fourth appointment of the “Umbria Fashion” column is aimed in particular at emerging stylists who, with one of their creations, will be able to parade at the October event. There is time until September 30 to participate in the contest.
The second edition of Umbria Fashion is warming up its engines and has begun its preparations step by step in view of the October event. An event that focuses on emerging talents in the fashion world, for this reason it has announced a competition for young stylists, with the aim of enhancing and promoting their creations and to give them visibility and encourage professional growth.
The participants in the contest will have to interpret their own time, creating an exclusive dress inspired by the painter Alberto Burri. The creation will have to take into account the elements that have characterized the artist’s style, with particular reference to the work Rosso Plastica, where form and balance are recurring peculiarities together with the use of plastic material, even destroyed and reused and which, in contact with fire, opens and twists, as do the layers of cellophane, which give rise to games of transparency.
The competition (reserved for adults) is aimed at young designers graduated from public or private design, fashion and modeling institutes; academies, fashion universities and professional schools. The delivery of the sketch (via: email, post, courier or hand delivery) is scheduled for September 30, 2024.
A special examining commission, appointed by Laura Cartocci Event Management, on October 1st will select (at its sole discretion) the sketches received that will access the final phase of the competition and that will be able to show during the Umbria Fashion day scheduled for October 19, 2024 at the Sala dei Notari in Perugia; there will also be the selection of three reserves. The names of the finalists will be published on the website: www.umbriafashion.it by October 4, 2024. Among these, a jury of experts, during the second day (October 20, 2024) of the event, will decree the three final winners who will receive the prize.
